Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Pacific Southwest Council’s 22nd Annual Awards Gala on May 6, 2016 recognizes the achievements of certified minority owned firms and the corporations that support diversity in business.
This year’s celebration is set to be the best one yet!
Special Guest Hans Olson lends his unique and powerful musical style to this year’s event. A veteran with over 45 years in the music industry, Olson has produced 16 original albums and many of his songs have been included on soundtracks for various T.V. shows and films. He was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 1996 and is known as one of the best “harp-in-a-rack” players in the world.
J.R. Cardenas joins the celebration as emcee. When Cardenas is not hosting Cox Cable’s show Su Vida, he’s reporting community stories on 12News or talking Diamondbacks baseball on Fox Sports AZ.
The Council’s Awards Gala takes place May 6, 2016 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz. The reception and business exchange begins at 5 p.m. with the awards presentation and dinner immediately following. A silent auction, ongoing throughout the evening, benefits the Council’s development and training programs for certified minority business enterprises.
The Council presents seven awards this year to recognize outstanding minority business leadership in our community. The awards include: four MBE Supplier of the Year Awards (based upon business size), the MBE Advocate of the Year Award, the Corporate Advocate of the Year Award, and the Corporation of the Year Award.
“The Scott Business Group was very excited and proud to be awarded the Supplier of the Year Award by the Pacific Southwest Council last year. The Council has been a key factor in the success of our business. The relationships we’ve built as a result of their networking events, being engaged in their committees and training provide us the tools to succeed,” said Millie Gonzalez-Scott, Chief Operating Officer of Scott Business Group.
