CERTIFY OR RENEW NOW

The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) certification process,
administered by PSWMSDC, requires that Minority Business Enterprises in our network
are at least 51% minority-owned, operated, and controlled.

Eligibility is established by conducting a series of screenings, interviews, and site visits.
This distinguishes NMSDC from other organizations or entities that publish directories
allowing for self-certification as their standard.

GETTING STARTED

  • Review the certification criteria to ensure that your business qualifies for certification.
  • Sign up for the mandatory pre-certification workshop. Workshops occur each month in our headquarters in Arizona and via webinar.
For all updates please see our events calendar. Please note that dates and times are subject to change.
  • For information on the certification process, contact our Certification Department at certifications@pswmsdc.org or at 602.495.9950

CERTIFY NOW: APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Complete the certification application. You may take as long as necessary to complete the application. Your information will be securely saved until your next session.
  • Upload required documentation as directed.
  • Pay for your application fee. We accept most major credit cards. The processing of your application will begin when ALL required documents have been submitted, and the application fee paid in full.
  • Desk Audit – Your application and supporting documents are reviewed by PSWMSDC’s Certification Specialist for completeness.
  • Certification Committee Review – The Certification Committee meets once a month to review applications and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for action.
  • Onsite Visit – PSWMSDC will perform an onsite visit to review your business premises and conduct a personal interview with the owner(s).
  • The Board of Directors will review the Certification Committee’s recommendations then make the final decision. If the Board of Directors rejects the application, you may submit a letter of appeal. If approved, you will be notified by e-mail with Approval Letter.
  • Post-certification Workshop - The final step of the certification process. Newly certified MBEs are required to attend Post-Certification Workshops in person. Workshops are held once a quarter at the PSWMSDC offices in Arizona and San Diego, CA.

All claims or disputes arising out of the MBE Certification Process, whether the initial denial or after an appeal, between you and PSWMSDC will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), Title 9 of the United States Code, and arbitration rules. You agree, understand, and choose binding arbitration instead of litigation to resolve all claims. By proceeding with the certification process, neither you nor PSWMSDC will have the right to litigate a claim in court with respect to the certification process.

CERTIFICATION FEES

Companies certified by PSWMSDC are required to renew their certification each year. As an MBE, it is your responsibility to maintain up-to-date certification. You can find your certification expiration date on the electronic certificate and in your online profile.

PSWMSDC Certification and Recertification fees are based on the company's annual revenue.

While registered contacts may receive a courtesy notification that the certification is due to expire, PSWMSDC is
not responsible for ensuring that an MBE gets re-certified.

Recertification remains the sole responsibility of each MBE.
